The iconic Portobello Market in London is a street market full of stalls that range from Westbourne Grove to Golborne Road and along it. It is a great entry game for people who don't play board games other than games for children and games like Monopoly. On Saturdays, the market is full of stalls from Westbourne Grove to Golborne Road and crossing under Westway to Ladbroke Grove. The new good section is more typical of merchants in the London market, with stalls that sell cheap socks, toys, batteries, etc.
Antique game rooms: Westbourne Grove opens, antique stalls between Portobello Road and Kensington Park Road Portobello Green: more new and less vintage fashion than on Fridays. The first action a player can take is to place one of their market stalls. The player can only place a seat in one of the lanes adjacent to Bobby's current location. If a player wants to place a seat in a different lane, they can move the Bobby to another district (see the Moving the Bobby section).Portobello Market has some very interesting mechanics and they work well together to offer players plenty of options.
I would say that the biggest problem I had with Portobello Market is that it's one of those games where it's not immediately obvious what strategy you should follow. My initial impression that Portobello Market was similar to Ticket to Ride was correct in some ways and wrong in others. If you already have a very similar game, I don't know if Portobello Market is special enough to guarantee a purchase. To enjoy the largest selection (and the largest number of people), be sure to visit us on Saturday. I really liked Portobello Market, but I don't see it as the type of game I would play all the time.
People who are intrigued by the premise and are looking for a more accessible game that still has strategy should enjoy their time with Portobello Market. If the premise doesn't interest you much or you're not a fan of abstract games of strategy and control in light to moderate areas, you probably don't like Portobello Market. So how many stalls are usually present at portobello market on a typical day? The answer depends on the day of the week. On Saturdays, when most people visit, there are usually hundreds of stalls present at portobello market. On other days, there may be fewer stalls present.
